African Leopard Painting - 20th December 2006 |
After MANY more hours painting, I have continued to
refine the leopard and completed the foreground grasses, twigs
etc This painting is now completed |
African Leopard Painting - Progress, 16th November 2006 |
The leopard painting is starting to come together
nicely and I estimate it to be approx 40% completed. The leopards
head, body and front leg are all at different stages of completion,
so look a bit disjointed at the moment. |

Leopard - Stage 2
African Leopard Painting - Progress, 16th November 2006 |
Above you can see how I have continued to block the leopards body in,
the face has also been given a little more work. This is just the
first of MANY layers of paint and each subsequent layer will bring
more realistic colours and detail. Still a million miles to go, but
it's beginning to take some shape. |

Stage 1
Leopard Painting - Progress, 14th November 2006 |
Every painting has to start somewhere and here I
have created a subdued and blurred background, this will prevent
the background competing for attention with the star of this painting
the magnificent leopard. After the background has dried I start to
block in the very basic shape of the cat. |
