Siberian Tiger Painting - Completed, 13th August 2007

I have now completed the details in both the tiger and rock, and glazed areas for softness and colour. I hope you like the Intense / ready to pounce pose in this painting.

Above you can see that I have now added much more texture and detail to the tiger and also started to refine the large rock by the tigers right foot. I will bring the whole rock up to this level of completion before refining the tiger once more.

Above you can see the initial blocking in of the base colours. It is extremely important for me to get a good solid start on the painting so I generally start with the head before moving on to the background.

Another absolutely stunning siberian tiger commission up on my easel at the moment. This one is a little smaller at 24 x 20 inches. Above you can see the very basic initial drawing on the canvas. If anyone is interested in commissioning a life sized tiger then I am up for the challenge!!!
