Siberian Tiger Painting - Progress, 15th September 2006

The Siberian Tiger painting above is now completed and sold. Here you can see how I have softened the painting making the fur of the tiger look much more realistic. A siberian tiger painting is always a challenge as the fur is not only long but very dense, therefore I buildup fur on top of fur during my painting, it takes longer and is almost like doing the painting again, but I think the effect is worth it in the end. Although the painting is very detailed I am not after hyper realism but more of a painterly appearance.
