99.9 % completed now, All I have left to do is to colour some of the whiskers on the shadow side of the face, but apart from that he is finished. Hope you have enjoyed the step by steps.

I am now gradually going over the acrylic underpainting with the 1st coat of oils. Here you can see that I have applied oil paints to the eye areas and also the blue side of the fur.

At this stage I have finished blocking in the very basic colours and form with acrylic paint - next comes the exciting part, brining this tiger to life with oils :)

The stage below just shows how I have started to establish the dark areas of the cat, absolutely everything will be over painted two or three times at least, so there is no pressure to get things perfect at all.

All paintings have to start somewhere and on this one I have started with a fairly detailed (for me anyway's) pencil drawing, directly on to my canvas.
