Siberian tigers must be the most majestic of all cats and they are also the largest, commonly weighing a massive 300kg! Unfortunately All five remaining tiger species are now endangered. With approx 400 - 500 remaining in the wild, there has been a drastic reduction in the thousands that were alive just 100 years ago. Tigers have been painted so many times, but they are still a fascinating subject and certainly a favorite with art collectors. The challenge for the serious wildlife artist is to bring the individual personality of the Tiger to the fore and this one certainly had a very regal presence. Hopefully you think I have accomplished my goal with this Siberian Tiger Painting. |
